About Healing Arts Programming at the MACC
The MACC’s Healing Arts Department is dedicated to transforming lives through the arts. Our BETWEEN THE LINES: Healing Arts for Military Veterans plays a crucial role in this mission by offering free, high-quality expressive arts intervention. This program fosters creative expression, self-awareness, empowerment, and community building through vulnerable sharing.
Our skilled facilitators conduct weekly or bi-weekly workshops at various locations, including the Veterans Recovery Center in Murfreesboro, the American Legion Veterans Residence in Gallatin, American Legion in Greenbriar, and other sites. They work diligently to help individuals overcome feelings of depression and anxiety through creative expression.
We are seeking your support to enhance and expand our programming. Specifically, your donation will help us:
***Create a Mobile Classroom: This initiative will allow us to reach veterans directly where they are by offering new opportunities for creativity and support for those coping with PTSD and traumatic brain injury.
***Employ Additional Healing Arts Facilitators: By increasing our team, we can better serve veterans and the public across Sumner County and the Middle Tennessee area thereby meeting the growing demand for our healing arts.
***Our Future Goal: With additional resources, our future goal is introducing our healing arts program to local EMTs and police officers who face daily challenges serving the public.
